Patrice Wynne started a new life in San Miguel de Allende in 2001 after 20 years in the book business as the owner of the renowned independent bookstore, GAIA Bookstore and Cultural Center in Berkeley, California. Inspired by the color and symbols of Mexico, she started San Miguel Designs, a fair trade company hiring mothers and daughters from San Miguel to create and design her popular aprons and homewares based on Mexican icons—Days of the Dead, Frida Kahlo, Chili Peppers, Corazones, Virgin of Guadalupe. Her Collection is sold in museums, boutiques and airport stores throughout Mexico. In February 2010 she opened her store, ABRAZOS, on Zacateros 24 near Pila Seca. Come visit!
