Diane is a self-taught artist with a Master’s degree in botany. She has worked in a variety of media including fiber, ceramics, cloisonne enamel, and jewelry. She illustrated a cookbook for Chronicle Books and wrote a book about spinning fancy yarns with a spinning wheel (in print for 22 years). She also has a collection of photographic abstractions from nature which can be viewed on her website. In 1987-88 she rode her bicycle around the world. A northern California native, she lived in a tiny Mexican beach village in southern Baja California Sur for twelve years. Diane is interested in using native plants for landscaping--check out her Baja desert garden blog: www.cabopulmo.blogspot.com. With her husband Rob, she built a beautiful vacation rental home www.encantopulmo.com. Seeking art and culture, she came to San Miguel in early 2009 intending to stay for two weeks, but couldn’t leave and now calls San Miguel home. She is currently in a productive artistic phase, painting with oil and experimenting with mixed media.
