Gerry Ricciardi Gill's paintings and other creative works express her spiritual joy in her visions of symbols of childhood memories and also of nature and span a diversity of scale and technique. Her large paintings are loose and fresh, capturing the essential abstraction and symbolic vibrance of the forms, where at times a bit of humor sneaks through. Having had a successful studio/gallery in Cleveland's "Little Italy" art community, Gerry came to San Miguel in 1989 and fell in love with it's magic and came to stay in 1995. Mostly self taught, The Instituto de Allende made it possible for her to explore her love of ceramics and bronze sculpture. Her creativity also moved into the area of iron furniture design in 1999 with her original line of iron twig tables and accessories called 'FEATHER YOUR NEST', made to order and sold exclusively at her gallery, Relox46 / Centro. Gerry's work has appeared in The Cleveland Museum of Art, both in The May Show and The Focus Fibre Exhibition; The Butler Museum of American Art; The Artist and the Quilt National Exhibition, Oberlin, Ohio and The National Museum of Health, Washington, D.C. She has also participated in ceramic and painting exhibitions at The Bellas Artes and The Instituto de Allende and is in collections in the U.S., Mexico, Canada and Germany.
